Panama's
western city of Boquete, just 30 minutes from David, the capital
of Panama's Chiriquí Province, is nestled among the country's
most mountainous region, at 1,200 meters (3,600 ft.). Situated
between the Caldera River, which lies to the east, and Baru
Volcano to it's west, Boquete enjoys a comfortable year-round
climate ideal for active retirement living and outdoor adventure
seekers alike- birding, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, etc.
In addition, the near perfect weather and rich, fertile soil
has created an ideal setting for floral exportation and coffee
growing.

Boquete Jazz Festival 2009
March 13-14
4 out of 5 gold stars
There is no question that "Jazz Is Alive" in Boquete and this years festival was living testimony!
Headlined by Luba Mason (married to Ruben Blades) and featuring the melodic and sometimes hard driving rhythms of other immensely talented artists like Reginald Boyce, Hernan Romero, Yuri Honing Quartet, the IMOX Jazz Band and others, this festival was a smashing success.
Forget that this was only the third ever Boquete Jazz Festival, it was a quantum leap from previous events.
One recommendation Boquete Jazz promoters; next year create the "mood" - turn down the house lights and create a more intimate setting.
